Job summary

Infrastructure Deployment Services in Sydney CBD NSW is seeking an experienced Civil Supervisor to lead civil delivery, build the team and actively contribute on site when required. You will report to the Senior Project Manager and work with the Electrical Supervisor to deliver programs on time and to spec.

Key responsibilities include leading crews, recruiting and training a high‑performing team, and ensuring safety through SWMS, risk assessments, and a strong safety culture across the site.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supervising civil crews in the public domain.
• Strong WHS leadership, with experience writing SWMS and managing high‑risk works.
• Experience in service locating and safe excavation near underground services.
• Competent operator of excavators, tipper trucks and vac trucks.
• Hands‑on concreting experience.
• Track record building and leading teams, not just running a site.
• Traffic control tickets, a current White Card and HR licence.
• Willingness to travel interstate initially.

We’re looking for an experienced Civil Supervisor to lead this division. You’ll take responsibility for civil delivery, build and develop the team, and work hands‑on when the job requires it. The role reports directly to the Senior Project Manager and works closely with our Electrical Supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate civil crews day to day across multiple sites
• Recruit, induct, train and grow the civil team, and shape it into a high‑performing crew
• Plan and deliver excavation, footings, concreting and reinstatement in the public domain
• Lead WHS on site: SWMS, risk assessments, toolbox talks, incident reporting and a strong safety culture across the crew
• Work within established ISO 45001 safety and ISO 14001 environmental management systems
• Manage Before You Dig, service locating and potholing before any excavation
• Operate and coordinate excavator, tipper and vac truck, and manage traffic control on site
• Work closely with Senior Project Manager and Electrical Supervisor to deliver programs on time and to spec
• Get on the tools when needed, whether operating plant, pouring concrete or running a crew from the frontline

About you

• Proven experience supervising civil crews in the public domain (council, road reserve or utility works)
• Strong WHS leadership, with experience writing and enforcing SWMS and managing high‑risk construction work
• Experience in service locating and safe excavation near underground services, including electrical, gas, water and telco
• Competent operator of excavators, tipper trucks and vac trucks
• Hands‑on concreting experience
• Experience with conduit, pit & pipe, surface finishes, pole footings, light poles or similar infrastructure installation is highly regarded
• A track record of building and leading teams, not just running a site
• Traffic control tickets (or willingness to obtain them), a current white card and a heavy rigid (HR) licence
• Willingness to travel interstate initially
