Job summary

New Horizon Construction in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Civil Site Engineer to oversee road construction projects across the city. You will manage site activities, coordinate with the Operations Manager, supervisors, subcontractors and councils, and ensure safety and quality.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and at least three years’ experience in civil construction, with a strong focus on roads.

Qualifications

• Three years' experience as Site Engineer or Project Engineer in civil construction, with focus on road works.
• Experience managing project budgets and delivering projects up to $2 million.
• Ability to read drawings and interpret specifications, and manage subcontractors.
• Strong organisational and communication skills with problem-solving ability.
• Current driver's licence and Construction White Card.
• Hands-on involvement in road construction projects across Melbourne.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate road reconstruction, drainage, kerb and channel, footpath and asphalt works.
• Manage project budgets, track costs and monitor progress against the construction program.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
• Review drawings and specifications, resolve site issues and raise RFIs.
• Prepare progress claims, variations, site reports and project records.
• Manage inspections, quality documentation and project handover.
• Maintain site safety and environmental standards.
• Communicate with clients, consultants and service authorities.
