Job summary

ENGCO Projects is seeking a Civil Site Engineer for a North Melbourne road infrastructure project. The role requires 2–5 years of site experience and a civil engineering degree, with current White Card.

You will coordinate site activities, monitor earthworks and drainage, manage subcontractors, and maintain ITPs and progress reports while ensuring safety and quality on site.

Qualifications

We provide experienced engineering personnel and integrated project solutions to support the successful delivery of complex civil infrastructure projects.

We are currently seeking a Civil Site Engineer with 2–5 years of site-based experience to support the delivery of road construction and associated civil infrastructure works in North Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise day-to-day site engineering activities associated with road construction and civil infrastructure works.

• Oversee construction activities including earthworks, pavement construction, road formation, drainage, underground utilities, service relocations, kerb and channel, footpaths and associated infrastructure.

• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site crews to ensure works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, drawings and construction programs.

• Assist with the coordination, installation and management of underground services and utilities, including service proving, protection, relocations and integration with road construction activities.

• Interpret construction drawings, review design documentation and resolve technical issues in collaboration with project management and design teams.

• Prepare and maintain site documentation, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality records, daily diaries, permits and progress reports.

• Monitor construction progress, identify potential delays and assist with implementing solutions to maintain project schedules.

• Ensure compliance with project safety, environmental and quality requirements.

• Work closely with project managers, supervisors, surveyors, quality personnel and commercial teams to support efficient project delivery.

Essential Experience & Skills

• Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

• 2–5 years of site-based experience in civil construction, preferably within road construction or infrastructure projects.

• Current White Card required.

• Demonstrated understanding of road construction methodologies, including earthworks, pavement layers, drainage and underground services.

• Previous utilities experience is highly desirable, particularly exposure to underground service installation, service relocations, service proving and coordination with utility authorities.

• Experience interpreting construction drawings, specifications and project documentation.

• Competent in site engineering, subcontractor coordination, quality assurance and construction reporting.

• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

• A proactive approach to safety, quality and collaborative project delivery.
