Job summary

The Shire of Denmark is seeking an experienced Manager Civil Operations to lead civil construction, maintenance, mechanical services and depot operations. Reporting directly to the Director Infrastructure and Assets, you will translate strategic priorities into effective operational outcomes and guide a multidisciplinary workforce while overseeing project delivery, budgets and resource management.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or substantial related equivalent experience.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary operational teams.
• Experience managing large operational budgets and capital works programs.
• Procurement, contract administration and contractor management experience.
• Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination and delivery of civil construction, maintenance, mechanical services and depot operations.
• Manage operational budgets, workforce resources, plant and equipment to maximise service delivery.
• Deliver approved capital works projects within budgets and schedules.
• Develop operational plans, service levels and performance measures.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to supervisory staff and teams.
• Foster a proactive safety culture and ensure WHS compliance.
• Contribute to long-term infrastructure planning and asset management initiatives.
• Build relationships with contractors, government agencies and stakeholders.
• Drive innovation and effective use of technology and data to improve performance.
• Provide advice to Executive Management, Council and community stakeholders.
