Job summary

Redland City Council is seeking a Maintenance Crew Member to perform hands‑on civil maintenance across roads, drainage, and related infrastructure on the Redlands Coast. The role supports a team‑based, outdoors environment and offers opportunities to gain qualifications and advance your career.

You will work with a team to perform high‑quality maintenance, follow safety rules, and use tools and plant safely.

Qualifications

Experience in civil construction, drainage, or related trades is highly desirable but not essential.
Transferable skills from labouring, landscaping, parks/gardens, or trades assistant roles are encouraged to apply.
Practical problem‑solving skills and ability to work safely in outdoor environments.
Ability to follow instructions and work autonomously or in a small team.

Responsibilities

Carry out routine civil maintenance tasks across teams (road pavements, drainage, signage, fencing, boardwalks, rapid response).
Complete work safely, efficiently and to a high standard under supervision.
Operate and maintain plant, tools and equipment safely and effectively.
Contribute to a positive, cooperative, team‑focused work environment.
Use systems to action work orders, record defects and support maintenance programs.
Follow all Workplace Health & Safety requirements and report hazards or risks.
