Job summary

CMC are seeking experienced Leading Hands to support Bruce Highway upgrade projects in the Rockhampton Region. You will supervise on-site construction activities, coordinate trades and ensure works progress to program.

The role offers a 10/4 roster with camp accommodation and meals, with local DIDO options. A competitive rate with uplifts and a site vehicle is provided for the right candidate.

Applicants must have at least 2 years in civil infrastructure and be eligible to work in Australia.

Qualifications

• Min 2 years’ experience on a similar civil infrastructure road/bridge/pavement/drainage project –TMR or equivalent.
• Experience leading a team of multi-skilled plant operators and labourers.
• Strong work ethic and demonstrated commitment to safety and environment.
• Capable of following instructions and directions from supervisors and engineers.
• Experience supervising subcontractors' and suppliers' work and materials.

About The Role

CMC are taking EOI’s for experienced Leading Hands to join us for ongoing Bruce Highway upgrade packages in the Rockhampton Region. The project has multiple disciplines including, traffic management, general earthworks, embankment widening, pavement reconstruction, drainage extensions, FRP, Guardrail, service re-locations, resurfacing & line marking.

Primary Responsibilities

Reporting to the relevant Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the onsite construction process and providing support in the field to assist with the coordination of all trades.

The roster will be 10/4 and accommodation is provided, or if local the role is DIDO.

On completion, permanent full-time work continues for the right person who is willing to work away on other rosters and projects long-term.

About You

• A min of 2 years’ experience on a similar civil infrastructure road/bridge/pavement/drainage project –TMR or equivalent
• Have proven ability in leading the construction process by leading a team of multi-skilled plant operators and labourers
• Possess a strong work ethic and demonstrated commitment to the environment and safety
• Capable of accurately following instructions and directions from supervisors and engineers
• Have experience assisting with the surveillance of subcontractors' and suppliers' work and materials delivered
• Be confident in hands-on day-to-day site supervision and coordination
• Able to operate machinery as required and lead by example
• Be an Australian citizen/permanent resident or have a current visa allowing you the right to work in Australia.
