CMC is seeking an experienced Leading Hand to join the Bruce Highway upgrade project from Marlborough north. You will supervise on-site construction, coordinate trades, and support the Supervisor in delivering civil works including earthworks, embankment widening and drainage.

The roster is 10/4 with accommodation provided, or DIDO for locals. This is a full-time role with progression to long-term site assignments across Queensland and northern NSW for the right person.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience on civil road/bridge projects.
• Proven ability to lead a multi-skilled crew on site.
• Strong work ethic with a safety-first mindset.
• Capable of following instructions from supervisors and engineers.
• Experience supervising subcontractors and supplier works.
• Be hands-on with day-to-day site supervision and coordination.

About the role

This role is for an experienced Leading Hand to join a DTMR Bruce Hwy upgrade from Marlborough 26kms to the North. The project has multiple disciplines including, traffic management, general earthworks, embankment widening, pavement reconstruction, drainage extensions, FRP, Guardrail, service re-locations, resurfacing & line marking.

Primary Responsibilities

Reporting to the relevant Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the onsite construction process and providing support in the field to assist with the coordination of all trades.

The roster will be 10/4 and accommodation is provided, or if local the role is DIDO.

On completion, permanent full-time work continues for the right person who is willing to work away on other rosters and projects long-term.

About you

To join our team, you will require the following:

• A min of 2 years’ experience on a similar civil infrastructure road/bridge/pavement/drainage project –TMR or equivalent
• Have proven ability in leading the construction process by leading a team of multi-skilled plant operators and labourers
• Possess a strong work ethic and demonstrated commitment to the environment and safety
• Capable of accurately following instructions and directions from supervisors and engineers
• Have experience assisting with the surveillance of subcontractors' and suppliers' work and materials delivered
• Be confident in hands‑on day‑to‑day site supervision and coordination
• Able to operate machinery as required and lead by example
• Be an Australian citizen/permanent resident or have a current visa allowing you the right to work in Australia.
