Job summary

ConsultANZ is seeking a Civil Estimator in Brisbane to join its pre-construction team and lead pricing for civil projects across SE Queensland. You will develop accurate project pricing, coordinate tender inputs, and help secure new opportunities.

You'll analyse drawings, perform quantity take-offs, review subcontractor pricing, and identify commercial risks. The role offers a permanent full-time position with scope for long-term growth in a reputable contractor.

Qualifications

• Civil construction estimating experience in civil works or land development
• Qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying
• Strong understanding of earthworks, roads, pavements, drainage and underground services
• Proficient in quantity take-offs, cost planning and tender preparation
• Able to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and tender submissions for civil projects
• Analyse drawings, specifications, scopes and project requirements
• Complete quantity take-offs and develop project rates
• Source and review pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
• Identify commercial risks, exclusions and opportunities within tenders
• Work with the construction team to ensure estimates are practical and deliverable

What you'll be doing:

• Complete quantity take-offs and develop project rates
• Source and review pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
• Identify commercial risks, exclusions and opportunities within tenders
• Work closely with the construction team to ensure estimates are practical and deliverable
• Assist with tender presentations, negotiations and client queries
• Support the smooth handover of successful tenders to the project delivery team

What we're looking for:

• Civil construction estimating experience, ideally across general civil works or land development projects.
• Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a similar field
• Solid understanding of earthworks, roads, pavements, drainage and underground services
• Strong skills in quantity take-offs, cost planning and tender preparation
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Commercially minded with strong attention to detail
• Confident communicator who can build relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
