Job summary

DIG IT Civil in Mascot, NSW seeks a Civil Engineering Technician for a full-time, 38-hour week. You will support planning, execution and inspection of civil works, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and project specs.

The role requires a degree or diploma in civil engineering and at least 1 year of relevant experience. Salary ranges from $79,000 to $95,000 per annum plus superannuation, with a dynamic, team-oriented work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• At least 1 year of civil construction/earthworks experience.
• Ability to interpret drawings, survey info, plans and specs.
• Knowledge of civil construction methods, materials and QA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Interpret civil drawings, plans, specs and survey information for excavation and earthworks.
• Prepare site layouts, schedules and tabulations for construction works.
• Take field measurements, collect data and perform calculations for earthwork volumes.
• Assist in quantity take-offs, cost calculations for excavation and piling activities.
• Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with drawings and specs.
• Coordinate testing of soil, compaction and concrete materials and record results.
• Monitor and document excavation, drainage and site prep works and report discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records and inspection reports.
• Liaise with engineers, surveyors and site personnel to resolve technical issues.
