DIG IT Civil is a Sydney-based civil construction contractor specialising in bulk and detailed excavation, earthworks, piling, demolition, site preparation and civil construction services. With projects across Greater Sydney, the company provides practical and reliable solutions for residential, commercial and infrastructure developments.

On behalf of DIG IT Civil, we are seeking a a skilled and detail-oriented Civil Engineering Technician to join their team in Mascot, NSW. The successful candidate will provide technical support in the planning, preparation, execution and inspection of civil construction works, ensuring projects are completed in accordance with engineering specifications, technical requirements and applicable standards. Position Responsibilities and Tasks

• Interpret civil engineering drawings, construction plans, technical specifications and survey information relating to excavation, earthworks, piling and civil construction projects.
• Prepare technical sketches, site layouts, drawings, schedules and tabulations to support the planning and execution of civil engineering works.
• Undertake site measurements, collect technical data and perform calculations relating to excavation depths, earthwork volumes, ground levels and material quantities.
• Assist in preparing quantity take-offs, material estimates and technical cost calculations for excavation, piling, foundations and associated civil construction activities.
• Conduct site inspections to assess the progress and quality of civil works, verifying compliance with approved engineering drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Assist in coordinating field testing of soil, compaction, concrete and other construction materials, recording and interpreting results against relevant technical specifications.
• Monitor and document technical aspects of excavation, piling, drainage and site preparation works, identifying discrepancies and reporting required corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate technical records, inspection reports, measurement sheets, testing documentation and construction progress data.
• Liaise with civil engineers, surveyors, site supervisors and construction personnel to clarify technical requirements and assist in resolving site-related engineering issues.
• Support the implementation of quality assurance procedures and ensure civil engineering works comply with applicable Australian Standards, engineering specifications and contractual requirements.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor Degree, Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering, Civil Construction Design, Civil Engineering Technology, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 1 year of work experience in civil construction, excavation, earthworks, piling or related engineering projects.
• Ability to interpret civil engineering drawings, survey information, construction plans and technical specifications.
• Sound knowledge of civil construction methods, engineering materials, site measurements and quantity estimation.
• Familiarity with construction material testing, site inspection procedures and quality assurance requirements.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineering professionals, site personnel and other project stakeholders.

Salary: The role offers a remuneration package of $79,000 - $95,000 per annum, plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
