Job summary

WA Civil Engineering Contractors in Perth seeks a Civil Engineering Technician to support the Civil Engineer across earthworks and site development projects. You will draft and amend drawings, perform site checks for levels, compaction and drainage, and ensure compliance with Australian Standards and WHS requirements.

Role involves field verification, testing coordination, reporting non-conformances, and preparing quantity schedules. Full-time permanent position with WA travel between sites.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years in civil engineering technical support, earthworks or site preparation.
• Working knowledge of Australian Standards (AS 3798, AS 1289).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D for drafting and drawing amendments.
• Ability to interpret drawings, measure on site and assist with quantity calculations.
• Strong communication and coordination skills; current White Card and WA driver licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, read and amend drawings for earthworks, site prep, drainage in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Maintain as-built drawings, drawing register and technical documentation.
• Collect site data on ground levels and drainage gradients and compare with surveys.
• Assist with soil and material testing in field and lab and interpret results.
• Inspect earthworks and drainage against specs; document non-conformances.
• Calculate earthworks quantities and prepare schedules, tenders and estimates.
• Review subcontractor drawings and method statements against specs.
• Keep supervisors and crew informed; compile reports and compliance records.
• Report site conditions that affect quality or compliance.
