Job summary

Prime Builders Melbourne seeks a skilled Civil Engineering Draftsperson to support residential and commercial construction projects with detailed drawings and technical documentation.

You will prepare layouts, earthworks, drainage and foundations, interpret plans and survey data, and maintain accurate CAD drawings in line with Australian standards.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering Drafting or related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant drafting experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and related drafting software.
• Good interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.
• Understanding of civil works, drainage, earthworks and foundations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings, plans and technical documentation for residential and commercial projects.
• Prepare and revise site plans, layouts, drainage, earthworks, foundations and other civil drawings.
• Interpret designs, plans, survey data and specs to produce accurate drawings.

As part of our ongoing construction activities, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Engineering Draftsperson to join our team and provide drafting and technical documentation support across our residential and commercial construction projects.

• Position: Civil Engineering Draftsperson
• Salary: $80,000 plus Superannuation
• Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings, plans and technical documentation for residential and commercial construction projects.
• Prepare and revise site plans, layouts, earthworks, drainage, foundation and other relevant civil engineering drawings.
• Interpret engineering designs, architectural plans, sketches, survey information, specifications and technical data to produce accurate drawings.
• Use AutoCAD and other relevant computer-aided drafting and design software to prepare, modify and maintain technical drawings.
• Assist engineers and project personnel in the preparation and development of design and construction documentation.
• Prepare plans, sections, details and layouts required for various stages of construction projects.
• Review and update drawings to incorporate engineering modifications, site conditions and project requirements.
• Liaise with engineers, architects, surveyors, project managers, contractors and other relevant stakeholders regarding drafting and technical requirements.
• Assist in preparing drawings and technical documentation required for regulatory approvals and construction purposes.
• Check drawings for accuracy, completeness and consistency with engineering specifications, approved designs and project requirements.
• Maintain drawing registers, revisions, document control and technical project records.
• Ensure drafting work complies with relevant Australian Standards, regulatory requirements and company procedures.

Key Skills and Attributes:

• Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering Drafting, Civil Engineering, Engineering Design or a related discipline.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience as a Civil Engineering Draftsperson or in a similar drafting role.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant civil engineering drafting/design software.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, architectural plans, specifications and technical documentation.
• Sound knowledge of civil and construction works, including site works, drainage, earthworks and foundations.
• Understanding of relevant Australian Standards and construction requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to prepare accurate technical drawings.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with engineers, architects, project managers, contractors and other construction professionals.
