Qualifications

• AQF Diploma or higher in Civil Engineering, Civil Construction Design, Engineering Drafting or related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant professional experience in civil engineering drafting or construction design.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and CAD drafting applications; familiar with Australian standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings, plans, sections and layouts for residential, commercial and industrial projects.
• Convert sketches, concepts and specifications into accurate CAD drawings and construction documentation.
• Develop site plans, grading layouts and drainage arrangements as required by project specifications.

Job Description
AERO BUILD GROUP PTY LTD AERO BUILD GROUP PTY LTD is seeking a competent and detail-oriented Civil Engineering Draftsperson to join its construction and development team. The successful candidate will provide technical drafting support for civil engineering and building-related projects, working closely with engineering professionals to translate design concepts and specifications into accurate construction documentation. Task & responsibilities Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings, plans, sections and layouts for residential, commercial and industrial construction projects. Convert engineering sketches, design concepts and technical specifications into accurate CAD drawings and construction documentation.

Develop site plans, grading layouts, drainage arrangements and associated civil infrastructure drawings as required by project specifications. Interpret engineering calculations, survey information and technical data to produce precise drafting outputs. Assist civil engineers and engineering technologists in developing and finalising technical design documentation.

Review drawing dimensions, levels, annotations and technical details to identify discrepancies and ensure drafting accuracy. Incorporate design modifications and engineering instructions into revised drawings throughout project development. Prepare material schedules, drawing details and quantity information to support project planning and construction activities.

Coordinate technical drawing information with architects, engineers and relevant project personnel to maintain consistency across documentation. Ensure drafting outputs align with approved engineering specifications, relevant Australian Standards and applicable construction requirements. Maintain accurate drawing registers, revision histories and organised technical records for project documentation.

Prepare technical drawings and supporting documentation for planning submissions, development applications and regulatory approvals. Create 3D visualisations, digital models and physical mock-ups where required to support design presentations and project planning. Conduct site measurements and routine technical calculations, including Gross Floor
Area (GFA), Floor Space Ratio (FSR/FSI), building setbacks, access and egress requirements, parking provisions and building services coordination.

Qualification & experience AQF Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Associate Degree or higher qualification in Civil Engineering, Civil Construction Design, Engineering Drafting or a closely related discipline. Minimum 2–3 years of relevant professional experience in civil engineering drafting or construction design.

Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant computer-aided drafting applications. Sound technical understanding of civil engineering principles, construction drawings and design documentation. Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, construction practices and technical drafting conventions.

Ability to interpret engineering specifications, survey data and technical design information. Strong numerical aptitude, spatial awareness and attention to technical accuracy. Effective communication, organisational and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to manage drafting assignments, prioritise workloads and meet project deadlines. Capacity to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary project team.
