Job summary

NOTAZ International is a growing Australian engineering consultancy based in Doncaster East, Victoria. We are seeking a skilled Civil Drafter with Residential and Commercial project experience to join a multidisciplinary team delivering innovative engineering solutions.

You will prepare 2D and 3D drawings, CAD standards compliance, and mentor junior drafters. Requires Advanced Diploma or higher and at least 3 years' civil drafting experience using AutoCAD and Revit.

Qualifications

• Advanced Diploma or higher is required with relevant civil drafting background.
• 3+ years' experience as a Civil drafter or draftsperson.
• Experience using AutoCAD and Revit for civil/architectural documents.
• Strong accuracy, planning, and organisational skills.
• Experience across diverse projects from residential to commercial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare single line diagrams, tables, sketches, charts, and plans for civil works.
• Produce preliminary 2D designs from hand sketches or PDFs.
• Create concise engineering drawings from designs with minimal supervision.
• Ensure CAD standards and quality systems are followed.
• Mentor and supervise junior drafters to maintain high technical quality.
• Lead drafting deliverables and coordinate with engineers and clients.

Join NOTAZ International, a growing Australian engineering consultancy with over 25 years of experience in the steel, mining, mineral processing, energy, and infrastructure sectors. The position of a skilled and experienced Civil drafter with specialisation/experience in Residential and Commercial projects has become available. You will be part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team delivering innovative engineering solutions for some of the most challenging industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare single line diagrams, formulated tables in excel, sketches, charts, plans and designs for civil engineering works such as crossovers, driveways, stormwater systems, roads, etc.
• Prepare preliminary designs in 2D using hand sketches, PDF editors or AutoCAD
• Prepare concise engineering drawings from sketches and design information unassisted
• Comply with CAD Standards and Quality Systems relevant to specialization and location and apply techniques and procedures commonly used in that practice area and specialisation
• Undertake reviews of engineering drawings to ensure compliance with CAD standards and Quality Systems
• Manage and monitor the quality of work performed by others and promote a culture of technical excellence through mentoring and training less experienced drafters
• Fulfil Project Drafter role - manage the drafting aspects of projects of varying complexity and size, including planning and controlling of deliverables, resource management and maintaining communication between engineering and drafting staff on the project
• Place feature surveys onto drawings and understand site levels to ensure civil compliance
• Complete Sustainability Design Assessments such as STORM Reports
• Assist the office with printing and follow up phone calls to Councils, Consultants and Clients

About you

• Advanced Diploma or above in relevant field
• At least 3 years' experience as a Civil engineering draftsperson
• Experience in using Revit and AutoCAD to produce architectural and civil documents
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail with excellent planning and organisation skills
• Well-developed understanding and appreciation of architecture and landscape architecture, and how these design disciplines impact technical civil engineering design considerations
• Experience working in a diverse range of projects big and small for all types of clients from small extensions to townhouse/apartment developments to schools, pavilions, and clubhouses
• Experience working autonomously
• Appropriate time management skills and flexibility to allow for the management of a varying workload
• Fantastic interpersonal skills
