Job summary

PlanCon Build in Sydney, NSW, is seeking a civil drafting/engineering professional to prepare sketches, charts and designs for drainage, water, roads and other civil works. This full-time role includes fieldwork, laboratory testing and data collection.

You will interpret instructions, estimate material costs and ensure compliance with specifications and contract provisions, while supervising maintenance and repair work. A relevant AQF qualification is required.

Qualifications

• Full-time position (38h/w).
• Relevant qualifications in civil engineering or drafting.
• At least one year in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sketches, charts, tabulations, plans and designs for civil works.
• Perform and direct fieldwork and laboratory testing.
• Interpret work instructions and select procedures and equipment.
• Collect and analyse data and carry out computations.
• Estimate material costs and ensure works meet specifications and contract provisions.
• Inspect civil works and supervise maintenance and repair work.
• Conduct field and laboratory tests of construction materials and soils, and collect data for traffic surveys.

preparing sketches, charts, tabulations, plans and designs for civil engineering works such as drainage, water supply, sewerage reticulation systems, roads, airports, dams, bridges and other structures

performing and directing fieldwork and laboratory testing

interpreting work assignment instructions, applying appropriate procedures and selecting equipment

collecting and analysing data, and carrying out computations

estimating material costs and ensuring finished works are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions

inspecting civil engineering works, and organising and supervising maintenance and repair work

conducting field and laboratory tests of construction materials and soils, and collecting data for traffic surveys

• at least AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma of Civil Engineering or Engineering Drafting - Civil Design or higher.
• Relevant experience - at least one year in the industry.
