Job summary

Egis is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Urban Development team in Canberra to deliver design and documentation for land development and civil infrastructure projects.

You will manage drainage, water and sewer designs, coordinate with sub-consultants, and build relationships to win new business; ideal for a 5+ year experienced engineer with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Qualifications

• Ideally 5+ years' civil engineering experience in a consultancy with land development knowledge in ACT.
• Proven ability to design civil schemes and deliver documentation.
• Strong communication and liaison with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and manage Civil and Infrastructure designs within broad acre greenfield and brownfield redevelopment
• Design of major and minor drainage infrastructure with hydrological principles and water management
• Deliver water and sewer designs in accordance with applicable standards
• Prepare servicing and development reports

Job Description

As a Civil Engineer within our Urban Development team, you will focus on delivering comprehensive design and documentation for land development and civil infrastructure projects.

You will be responsible for

• Deliver and manage Civil and Infrastructure designs within broad acre greenfield and brownfield redevelopment
• Design of major and minor drainage infrastructure with an understanding of hydrological principles with appropriate water management and treatments
• Deliver and manage water and sewer designs in accordance with MRWA standards
• Prepare relevant servicing and development reports
• Work closely with the other members of the Urban Development team and sub-consultants
• Fostering relationships with current and potential clients building on your existing networks to generate new business

Qualifications

Ideally, you will have a minimum of 5+ years’ experience as a civil engineer within a consultancy environment with demonstrated knowledge of land development projects local to ACT. In addition, you will also have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering
• A thorough understanding of civil design principles pertaining to land development, storm water, sewer, hydraulics,flood modelling, civil infrastructure and roads
• Design of multi-disciplinary projects using 12D and Autocad
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and ability to run projects within budget and on time
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organisation and interpersonal skills for facilitating internal and external stakeholder engagements
