Job summary

Egis is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Urban Development team to deliver design and documentation for land development and civil infrastructure projects in Canberra. You will contribute to drainage design, water and sewer systems, and associated reports while working alongside sub-consultants and internal teams.

With 5+ years in a consultancy, you will leverage your civil design knowledge and multi-project capability to engage with clients and manage budgets.

• Strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and manage Civil and Infrastructure designs for land development.
• Design drainage infrastructure with hydrology and water management.
• Deliver water and sewer designs per MRWA standards.
• Prepare servicing and development reports.
• Collaborate with Urban Development team and sub-consultants.

About the Role

As a Civil Engineer within our Urban Development team, you will focus on delivering comprehensive design and documentation for land development and civil infrastructure projects.

You will be responsible for

• Deliver and manage Civil and Infrastructure designs within broad acre greenfield and brownfield redevelopment
• Design of major and minor drainage infrastructure with an understanding of hydrological principles with appropriate water management and treatments
• Deliver and manage water and sewer designs in accordance with MRWA standards
• Prepare relevant servicing and development reports
• Work closely with the other members of the Urban Development team and sub-consultants
• Fostering relationships with current and potential clients building on your existing networks to generate new business

What do we need from you

Ideally, you will have a minimum of 5+ years’ experience as a civil engineer within a consultancy environment with demonstrated knowledge of land development projects local to ACT. In addition, you will also have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering
• A thorough understanding of civil design principles pertaining to land development, storm water, sewer, hydraulics,flood modelling, civil infrastructure and roads
• Design of multi-disciplinary projects using 12D and Autocad
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and ability to run projects within budget and on time
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organisation and interpersonal skills for facilitating internal and external stakeholder engagements
