Job summary

Sellick Consultants in Canberra is seeking an experienced Civil Draftsperson to join our Civil team. This is a hands-on role collaborating with engineers, technicians, directors and clients to develop civil documentation from concept through to construction.

You'll work across a diverse range of projects—from multi-unit residential to commercial offices, warehouses and education facilities—bringing sound technical skills, practical thinking and a client-focused approach to every project.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in civil drafting, preferably within an engineering consultancy.
• Strong technical drafting skills and attention to detail.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to work independently while also contributing to a close-knit team.
• A practical approach to problem solving, with the ability to think beyond the obvious solution.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and meet project deadlines.
• A genuine interest in producing quality work and delivering outcomes for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and develop civil engineering documentation from concept through to construction. Work closely with Project Managers, Civil Directors, engineers and technicians to deliver projects.
• Prepare civil documentation in accordance with relevant authority requirements and project specifications.
• Check and review documentation in accordance with Sellick Consultants’ Quality Control procedures.
• Coordinate civil documentation with other Sellick Consultants disciplines.
• Assist with project planning, documentation and resource coordination.
• Monitor project progress and communicate updates to the Project Manager and/or Civil Director.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with our clients and project teams.
