Job summary

Anglicare Sydney is seeking a Chaplain at Elizabeth Lodge in Rushcutters Bay to lead chaplaincy ministry, build relationships with residents and provide Christ-centred pastoral care alongside a multidisciplinary care team.

You will offer Bible teaching, prayer, chapel services and spiritual support for residents, including those with dementia and end-of-life care, within a compassionate, mission-driven Anglican setting.

Qualifications

• Strong personal and active Christian faith.
• Relevant theological training.
• Ordination or recognition as Minister of Anglican Diocese of Sydney.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in pastoral ministry with older people.
• Ongoing membership and active participation in a local Evangelical Church.

Responsibilities

• Provide Christ-centred pastoral care through visitation, prayer, Bible teaching, preaching and church services.
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and provide spiritual care responsive to their needs.
• Encourage residents in their faith while offering opportunities to explore Christianity.
• Provide spiritual and pastoral support to residents living with dementia and those approaching end of life, and to families.
• Collaborate with Pastoral Carers, Home Management and the multidisciplinary care team to provide holistic care.
