Job summary

Peabody is seeking an experienced CHPP Operator/ Maintainer to join the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant team at Wambo. Reporting to the CHPP Production Supervisor, this hands-on role ensures safe operation, meets production targets and maintains coal quality specifications.

The position offers a 12-hour day/night shift pattern on a 2-3-3-2 roster, emphasising safety, teamwork and continuous improvement in a heavy industrial environment near Mudgee.

Qualifications

• Current Driver's Licence.
• Experience in CHPP, coal mining or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding capability.
• Experience with conveyors, pumps, crushers, screens and associated plant equipment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate CHPP in line with production schedules.
• Monitor plant performance and optimise production and product quality.
• Operate control room systems and respond to alarms.
• Conduct routine inspections and identify faults or issues.
• Perform first-response troubleshooting and maintenance.
