Job summary

Peabody is seeking an experienced CHPP Operator / Maintainer to join the CHPP team at Wambo. Reporting to the CHPP Production Supervisor, this hands‑on, trade‑based position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the CHPP, ensuring production targets, coal quality specifications and operational performance objectives are achieved.

Qualifications

• Current Driver's Licence.
• Previous experience within a CHPP, coal mining or heavy industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and fault‑finding capability.
• Experience working with conveyors, pumps, crushers, screens and associated plant equipment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate all areas of the CHPP in line with production schedules.
• Monitor plant performance and optimise production and product quality.
• Operate control room systems and respond appropriately to operational alarms.
• Conduct routine inspections and identify equipment faults or process issues.
• Perform first‑response troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance activities.
• Complete preventative maintenance inspections and associated work orders.
• Operate train loading facilities in line with train schedules and stockpile blend requirements.
• Operate stockpile dozers to manage, maintain and reclaim product coal stockpiles.
• Support planned shutdowns and maintenance activities.
• Identify, report and act on hazards and safety concerns.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and compliance with site procedures.
• Work collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams to optimise plant performance.
• Participate in activities including confined space entry, working at heights and dogging tasks as required.
