Job summary

Peabody Energy Corporation is seeking an experienced CHPP Operator/Maintainer to join the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant team at Wambo. Reporting to the CHPP Production Supervisor, this hands-on role combines operation and maintenance to meet production targets and coal quality specs.

The position offers a 4 Panel Rotating Roster (12-hour day and night shifts) with a 2-3-3-2 pattern, emphasizing safety, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Current Driver's Licence is required.
• Experience in CHPP, coal mining, or heavy industrial environments preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills.
• Experience with conveyors, pumps, crushers, screens and related plant equipment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate the CHPP in line with production schedules.
• Monitor plant performance and optimise production and product quality.
• Operate control room systems and respond to alarms.
• Conduct routine inspections and identify faults or issues.
• Perform first-response troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
• Complete preventative maintenance and work orders.
• Support stockpile management and train loading operations.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance to optimise plant performance.
