Job summary

Glencore Coal is seeking an experienced Fitter to join the CHPP maintenance team at Oaky Creek Coal. Reporting to the CHPP Senior Maintenance Engineer, this full-time role focuses on safe, reliable operation and maintenance of CHPP equipment.

You will perform planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance, inspections, fault finding and servicing to maximise plant performance. A Mechanical Trade qualification (Fitter) and current licences are required, with leadership experience valued in a

Reporting to the CHPP Senior Maintenance Engineer, an opportunity exists for an experienced Fitter to join the maintenance team.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Provide mechanical maintenance support to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the CHPP.
• Perform planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance activities on CHPP equipment.
• Conduct inspections, fault finding, repairs and servicing to maximise plant performance and reliability.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship while ensuring compliance with site procedures and statutory requirements.
• Contribute to a positive team culture and actively promote safe work practices across the operation.

About you:

Required

• Experience working within a CHPP maintenance environment.
• A nationally recognised Mechanical Trade qualification (Fitter or equivalent).
• Current Standard 11 (Surface) or the ability to obtain.
• Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a mining or heavy industry environment.
• Mining Supervisor G1, G8 and G9 competencies (formerly S1, S2 and S3).
• Experience in train loading and dozer operations.
• Current licences and competencies, including Forklift, EWP, Non-Slewing Crane, Dogging and Rigging.
