Job summary

St John of God Healthcare at Home is seeking a Personal Care Assistant to join our community-based home care team on a casual basis. You will provide compassionate personal care and practical support to help clients maintain independence and wellbeing in their own homes.

Working with Registered Nurses and the healthcare team, you will assist with daily living activities, document care, and support stock and fleet operations to ensure smooth service delivery in the community.

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including showering, dressing, grooming and mobility support.
• Deliver care with professionalism, compassion and respect, maintaining patient dignity, privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Work collaboratively with Registered Nurses and members of the multidisciplinary team to support positive patient outcomes.
• Promptly report and escalate any changes in a patient’s health, condition or wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate, timely and confidential patient records and documentation.
• Support stock management activities, including monitoring inventory levels, ordering supplies and restocking clinical consumables and equipment.
• Assist with the upkeep of fleet vehicles, including completing routine audits, maintaining cleanliness and reporting maintenance or safety concerns.
• Ensure community fleet vehicles are appropriately stocked, organised and ready for daily service delivery.
• Provide administrative and operational support to contribute to the efficient functioning of the Healthcare at Home service.
