Job summary

Coral Expeditions in Australia is seeking a Chief Officer to join our expedition ships. You will work closely with the Master and Chief Engineer to ensure safety, security and exceptional guest experience at sea.

Bring proven deck experience on passenger ships, leadership skills and a passion for the marine environment. This role involves rosters of up to 6–8 weeks and offers onboard accommodation, meals and career progression with Coral Expeditions.

Qualifications

• GMDSS certification and maritime safety training are essential.
• ECDIS and chart plotting experience.
• Proven leadership and ability to manage a team at sea.
• Strong customer service mindset and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and efficient vessel operations in coordination with Master and Chief Engineer.
• Maintain safety management standards and ISM compliance.
• Lead and supervise deck crew, ensuring professional presentation and guest safety.
• Oversee ship inventory, stock control and equipment accountability.
• Demonstrate safe working practices and incident prevention.
• Foster excellent communication within the crew and with passengers.
