Reporting to the CTO, you will set engineering priorities, drive hardware-software-aviation integration, mentor engineers and oversee delivery across the UAS lifecycle while collaborating with executive leadership.

Reporting to the CTO, you will work closely together to shape the engineering roadmap and translate technology strategy into clear engineering priorities and high-quality product and delivery outcomes. You will provide technical leadership across hardware, software and aviation technology, while leading and mentoring engineers and helping strengthen Safesky's engineering capability. Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
Significant engineering experience, with strong technical leadership capability and deep hands-on UAS development experience.
Demonstrated experience across the full UAS development lifecycle, including aircraft design, systems integration, flight testing and validation.
Strong experience with UAS flight-control and system-control platforms, including autopilot or related control systems.
Experience leading or technically guiding engineering teams, with the capability to step into broader Chief Engineer responsibilities.
Strong understanding of hardware and software architecture, systems integration, flight control and flight testing.
Strong technical communication skills, with the ability to explain complex engineering matters clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to translate business objectives into engineering outcomes.
Eligibility to obtain and maintain an appropriate Australian Government security clearance.
