Job summary

Westpac is seeking a Chief Engineer, Data Platforms, to own the strategic technical direction of the Data Platforms ecosystem, including Lakehouse, data warehouses, and information management capabilities. You will drive platform performance, cost, reliability, security and scalability, while advancing automation and SRE practices.

You will coach senior engineers, embed DevSecOps, and collaborate with product, architecture, and security teams to translate business needs into tangible platform

Qualifications

• Significant experience providing technical leadership across large, complex data platform environments.

Responsibilities

• Own the strategic technical direction and end-to-end design of the Data Platforms ecosystem.
• Shape platform engineering strategy and roadmaps across Lakehouse, data warehouse, data integration and information management capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership for complex programs transforming Westpac’s data landscape, including large-scale migrations.
