Job summary

Central Hospitality Group in Tamworth, NSW, is seeking experienced Chefs/Cooks for permanent full-time roles across our venues. You will operate busy kitchen environments, prepare high-end dishes, train staff, manage stock, and help refine menus while maintaining hygiene standards.

The role requires 2–3 years of commercial kitchen experience or a relevant qualification, the ability to work nights and weekends, and a positive team attitude. Remuneration ranges from $58,000 to $75,000 plus super.

Responsibilities

• Operate our kitchens and meet KPI targets.
• Assist with selecting and recruiting kitchen staff.
• Train kitchen staff in processing, cooking and high-end presentation techniques.
• Oversee and prepare, cook and present dishes.
• Prepare fresh ingredients and manage stock to minimize wastage.
• Order stock and maintain stock levels.
• Prepare high-end signature dishes and attend select guests.
• Work with service managers to update menus across kitchens.
• Maintain hygiene standards and comply with liquor licensing laws.
• Roster kitchen staff and manage day-to-day issues.

Due to the recent and upcoming further expansion of our business operation, Due to the recent and upcoming further expansion of our business operation, CH on Peel Pty Ltd (trading as Central Hospitality Group) requires additional full time Chefs/Cooks. Our operations are situated at Tamworth, in North West NSW, and include:

• CH Boutique Hotel (62 rooms)
• CH Boutique Apartments (12 apartments)
• Heritage listed DECO Wine Bat & Restaurant
• Hopscotch Restaurant and Bar
• The Pig & Tinderbox
• The Pavilion Function and Conference Centre
• The Bureau by Red Ribbon, and
• Dungowan Brewery

A successful candidate will be offered a remuneration package based on their experience and skill set between $58,000 - $75,000 plus statutory superannuation. The key duties of the role will include a selection of the duties outlined below and will be commensurate with skill level of Chef or Cook:

• Operate our kitchens and meeting KPI targets
• Assisting with selecting and recruiting kitchen staff
• Training kitchen staff in processing, cooking and high-end food presentation techniques
• Overseeing and preparing, cooking and presenting dishes
• Inspect and prepare fresh ingredients for cooking and meal preparation
• Operation of kitchen equipment to achieve required results for a la carte and function service
• Utilize understanding of stock control and work together with the kitchen team to minimize wastage.
• Ordering of stock and maintaining stock levels.
• Personal preparation of high-end signature dishes and attending on select guests
• Working with service managers to update and improve menus across our kitchens
• Ensuring our kitchens are maintained above regulated hygiene standards
• Understanding of liquor licensing laws and compliance
• Rostering kitchen staff and managing day to day issues

The Person

• A relevant commercial cookery qualification or equivalent is preferred.

For those without a qualification, additional relevant work experience will be considered.

• Minimum of 2-3 years relevant commercial kitchen experience (2 professional references are preferred)
