Job summary

Lara Sporting Club in Lara is seeking a part-time kitchen supervisor to lead shifts under the Head Chef, plan and develop a consistent menu including function food, and maintain high quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage the activities of the kitchen during specific shifts and provide operational direction to kitchen staff on those shifts.
• Support the Head Chef for menu development, maintaining updated and accurate costing of all dishes prepared and sold.
• Work closely with staff, delivering ongoing training, motivation and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards.
• Liaise with suppliers and providers and assist Head Chef to obtain new ones.

• Annual salary from $50,000+super based on 25 hours each week
• Additional hours available to cover staff leave etc
• Work with a close-knit team that enjoy working together and importantly, having fun while they do
• Part-time contract

The Role

We want someone who loves the role, wants to have a laugh while running a proven effective and efficient team.

You will be responsible to the Head Chef for the management of certain shifts in the kitchen. You will work in conjunction with the Head Chef and kitchen team to plan, develop, create and ensure a consistent and quality range of menu items including function food.

Duties (non exhaustive)

• Manage the activities of the kitchen during specific shifts andprovide operational direction to kitchen staff on those shifts.
• Support the Head Chef for menu development, maintaining updated and accurate costing of all dishes prepared and sold.
• Workclosely with staff,delivering ongoing training, motivation and professional development.
• Insure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
• Liaise with suppliers and providers and if need be advise Head Chef to obtain new ones

The candidate will also be able to demonstrate the following qualities:
