Minor Hotels invites passionate and skilled chefs to join the culinary teams at Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort and Elysia Wellness Retreat, located in the heart of the Hunter Valley. We are recruiting for Commis Chef and Cooks across both properties, offering growth in resort and wellness environments that value quality, teamwork and professional development.

You will deliver high-quality food in line with brand and menu standards, support daily kitchen operations, and maintain high standards of food

Qualifications

• Relevant trade qualifications (or working towards for Commis roles)
• Previous experience in a hotel, resort, or high-volume kitchen environment (preferred)
• A strong work ethic with a passion for fresh, high-quality food
• Ability to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
• A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality food in line with brand and menu standards
• Support daily kitchen operations, including preparation, service, and presentation
• Work collaboratively within a professional and supportive kitchen team
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and workplace cleanliness
• Contribute to a positive, efficient, and guest-focused kitchen culture
• Assist with training and mentoring junior team members (Sous Chef and Chef de Partie positions)
• Support stock control and help maintain efficient kitchen operations
