Job summary

Calvary Lower Plenty is seeking a dedicated Chef Manager to lead our aged care kitchen. Based in Melbourne's northern suburbs, you will supervise catering staff, ensure menu adherence and safe food handling for residents.

You will work Mon–Fri 9am–5pm, prepare meals to a set menu with IDDSI and allergen awareness, manage orders and budgets, and foster a positive team environment. Cert 4 in cooking and willingness to use Leecare are preferred.

Qualifications

• Cert 4 in cooking required.
• Aged care kitchen experience preferred.
• Familiar with Leecare system desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily kitchen operations, Mon–Fri 9am–5pm.
• Cook to a set menu with IDDSI and allergen awareness.
• Manage budget, food orders and resident meetings using computer systems.

About the role

Lower Plenty Garden Views is looking for a chef who can make a difference to the lives of our residents. You will be passionate about aged care and supportive of your team of dedicated catering staff. Working with 90 beds in Lower Plenty, this position will be full time ongoing. Your main duties will include:

• Oversight Mon - Fri 9am - 5pm managing the day to day operations of a busy Aged Care Kitchen.
• Cooking to a set menu
• IDDSI and allergen awareness essential
• resident and relative meetings, budget tracking and food ordering via computerised systems.

About you

• Cert 4 in cooking minimum
• Aged Care experience preferred
• Knowledge of computers and Leecare system (desirable)
• Strong positive leadership
