Job summary

Calvary Capel Sands is seeking a casual Support Worker - Catering in Capel Sound, VIC. You will assist the Chef/ Cook to provide nutritious meals for residents, ensuring dietary needs and safety standards are met.

This role offers opportunities for professional development within a large health care provider. Ideal candidates will hold a Current Food Handlers Certificate, be willing to obtain NDIS clearance, and demonstrate strong interpersonal and food safety skills.

Qualifications

• Current Food Handlers Certificate.
• NDIS Clearance check or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• High standards in food preparation.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations.
• Current Covid-19 vaccinations including booster are mandatory unless exempt.

Responsibilities

• Support service delivery under the direction of the Chef/Cook.
• Prepare daily meals and beverages meeting individual needs and dietary requirements.
• Maintain environment cleanliness and safety.
• Adhere to the National Food Safety Program and complete food safety records.
• Serve nutritious meals in well-presented form at the correct temperature.
• Prepare trays and trolleys for each meal service as per guidelines.

About The Role

As a Support worker - Catering you will make a difference each and every day in providing healthy, hearty and delicious meals prepared by our Chef. Reporting to the Home Manager, you will support the Chef/ Chef Manager and your team to deliver a high quality catering service to our residents.

Your main duties will include:

• Support service delivery under the direction of the Chef/Cook
• Prepare daily meals and beverages that meet individual needs of each resident including special dietary requirements, allergies and culturally specific as instructed by the Chef or Cook.
• Ensure environmental service standards are met and maintained, and the residents living environment is safe and maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
• Ensuring that all duties are worked in accordance with the National Food Safety Program at all times including completing food safety records and the prevention of cross contamination.
• Serve nutritious meals in well-presented manner and at the appropriate temperature
• Prepare trays and trolleys for each meal services as per the Calvary National Dining and Nutrition Guide.
