Job summary

Caboolture Sports Club is seeking a full-time Chef to join their busy kitchen and support the Head Chef and Sous Chef.

Responsibilities include preparing ingredients, plating, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring high-quality presentation while adhering to health and safety standards. The role requires 1–2 years of relevant experience and a relevant qualification in cookery. Training apprentices is also expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in relevant field.
• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery.
• At least 1 to 2 years of full-time relevant experience as a Chef or equivalent role.
• Ability to train apprentices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meal ingredients, including seasoning of different meats and washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruits.
• Perform basic cleaning duties and ensure workstations are sanitized.
• Plate and present meal items as per the Chef’s instructions.
• Demonstrate commitment to total customer satisfaction through product quality and presentation.
• Follow awards/agreements and contracts; maintain required standards.
• Follow health, safety, and workplace procedures; adhere to company policy manuals.
• Use safe manual handling techniques and promote a healthy and safe environment.
• Ensure equipment is in good working order and report any unsafe conditions or repairs.
• Wear protective clothing as provided by the establishment.
• Minimise environmental impact and prevent pollution.
• Provide a workplace free of discrimination, harassment and victimisation.
• Treat customers and colleagues from all cultures with respect and sensitivity.
