Job summary

Sunburst Food Group Pty Ltd in the Blue Mountains, NSW, is seeking an experienced Chef/Cook for a permanent full-time role. You will prepare and cook menu items to Sunburst standards, plan and prioritise daily kitchen operations, monitor stock, and support on-service across multiple service periods.

The ideal candidate holds a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery with a minimum of 2 years in a professional kitchen, plus HACCP knowledge.

Qualifications

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is required.
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Chef/Cook in a professional kitchen.
Sound knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP standards.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with Sunburst Food Group recipes and standards.
Plan, organise, and prioritise daily kitchen operations.
Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and maintain inventory records.
Assist in menu planning, seasonal specials, and recipe development.
Monitor food costs, portion control, and minimise wastage to meet budget targets.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service.
Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety.
