Job summary

Flower Child Café in Sydney is seeking a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef to join our growing kitchen team. This role suits an experienced CDP ready to step up, or a Junior Sous Chef seeking a supportive environment to grow into a strong second-in-charge.

You will work across kitchen sections, maintain high standards of food quality and presentation, and contribute to training and guiding junior teammates while upholding safety and cleanliness in a fast-paced service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' commercial kitchen experience.
• Previous Chef de Partie experience, with Junior Sous Chef experience highly regarded.
• Genuine passion for food and hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and producing high-quality food consistently to Flower Child standards.
• Working across kitchen sections and supporting smooth service.
• Maintaining excellent food quality, presentation and portion control.
• Supporting the Senior Sous Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Helping train, guide and support junior team members.
• Maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness and kitchen organisation.
• Communicating clearly with the kitchen and front-of-house teams.
• Assisting with prep, stock control and ensuring the kitchen is service-ready.
• Stepping up and taking responsibility during busy services when required.

Flower Child Café is a growing Sydney café group with venues across Castle Towers, Warringah and Chatswood, known for fresh food, quality produce and a busy, energetic service environment. We're looking for a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced CDP ready to take the next step, or an existing Junior Sous Chef looking for a supportive environment where they can grow into a strong second-in-charge.
