Job summary

QT Hotels & Resorts in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Chef de Partie to deliver high-quality dishes in a fast-paced hotel kitchen. You will follow recipes, prep sauces, soups, hot dishes, and assist the team during service.

You should have prior chef de partie experience in a quality hotel or restaurant, strong food safety knowledge, and a flexible casual roster including weekends and public holidays. Culinary qualification preferred. Perks from day one are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience as Chef de Partie in a quality hotel or restaurant kitchen.
• Strong recipe knowledge and passion for fresh, high-quality food.
• Sound understanding of food safety, portion control and waste management.

Responsibilities

• Produce consistently high-quality food across the hotel's kitchens, following standard recipes and demonstrating strong knowledge of every menu item.
• Prepare sauces, soups, hot dishes, and pantry items including salads, sandwiches and desserts for daily service and special functions.
• Monitor portion control, food quality and waste, and coach others on product preparation techniques.
• Manage food storage, requisition stock in line with hotel policies, and maintain cleanliness standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe workplace by following all WH&S guidelines and caring for kitchen equipment.
• Work closely with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef and wider service team, attending scheduled meetings and completing tasks on time.
