Job summary

Navarra Venues is seeking experienced Casual Chefs to join our busy events and hospitality venues across Sydney. You will handle food preparation for weddings, corporate functions and other large-scale events, working as part of a fast-paced kitchen brigade.

Based in Sydney with valid working rights in Australia, you must be reliable, punctual and able to work weekends and longer shifts during peak seasons. Immediate start and flexible casual shifts are offered across multiple venues.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen or as a chef in events/hospitality.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment during peak times.
• Reliable, punctual and professional in a hospitality setting.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation and cooking for events and functions
• Working across different sections of the kitchen
• Following menus, recipes and food presentation standards
• Maintaining high standards of food quality and consistency
• Following food safety, hygiene and WHS requirements
• Assisting with kitchen setup, service and pack-down
• Working effectively as part of a busy kitchen brigade
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment

About the Role

As a Casual Chef with Navarra, you will work across weddings, corporate functions, celebrations and other large-scale events.

You will be responsible for preparing and presenting food to a high standard while working as part of a fast-paced kitchen team.

The role may include:

• Food preparation and cooking for events and functions
• Working across different sections of the kitchen
• Following menus, recipes and food presentation standards
• Maintaining high standards of food quality and consistency
• Following food safety, hygiene and WHS requirements
• Assisting with kitchen setup, service and pack-down
• Working effectively as part of a busy kitchen brigade
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment

To Be Successful, You Must:

• Be currently based in Sydney
• Have valid working rights in Australia
• Have previous commercial kitchen / chef experience
• Be confident working in a fast-paced events or hospitality environment
• Be available to work weekends
• Have a strong understanding of food safety and hygiene
• Be reliable, punctual and professional
• Be able to work effectively under pressure
• Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Be available for longer shifts and peak-period work
