Job summary

RSL LifeCare in Narrabeen seeks a dedicated Chef to lead the kitchen in its Residential Aged Care facility. You will oversee food safety, meal preparation, and dietary modifications, ensuring nutritious and varied menus for residents and events.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen leadership and team coordination.
• Knowledge of dietary modification and special diets.
• Familiarity with HACCP and food safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Lead all food operations, safety, prep and service.
• Prepare meals including special diets (low salt, diabetic, soft).
• Order and oversee food supplies.
• Prepare meals for functions.
• Maintain cost control in food prep.
• Work with Manager to improve standards.

Job Description

Chef- Aged Care RSL LifeCare is a social purpose organisation providing leading aged care, retirement living, and veteran support services. With over 60 sites across NSW and the ACT, we are committed to empowering veterans and seniors to live their best lives with confidence. We are currently seeking applications for a Chef to support our Residential Aged Care facility in Narrabeen.

Lead all aspects of food operations including food safety, preparation and service Preparation and service of meals ensuring nutritious and wholesome food and variety of food. Preparation of special diets and modified diets as required including low salt, diabetic, soft and pureed.

Ordering and/or oversight of ordering of food supplies. Preparation and service of meals for functions. Maintain efficient cost control with regards to food preparation.

Work in conjunction with the Manager to constantly refine and improve the food service standards.

Your track record of leadership, ability to coordinate kitchen operations in a busy and fast-paced environment Your experience in menu planning and catering to modified diets Your ability to work efficiently and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards

Current knowledge of Food Handling Legislative including HACCP requirements Certificate 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookery as well as Food Safety Certification Australian
