Job summary

The Wests Group Australia is hiring a Full Time Chef at Wests New Lambton to support multiple dining outlets, including our Bistro and New Beijing. The role involves preparing, cooking and presenting high‑quality food while maintaining hygiene and working across service periods including weekends and public holidays.

Candidates should have Cert III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) and at least 3 years in a busy kitchen.

About The Opportunity

We are seeking a Full Time Chef to join our team at Wests New Lambton. With multiple dining outlets, including our Bistro and New Beijing, this role offers the opportunity to support a variety of food experiences across the venue.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $85,000

In this role, you will assist in preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality food across our outlets. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Completing preparation requirements in line with daily service needs
  • Delivering consistent, high-quality food during service
  • Supporting other kitchen sections as required
  • Maintaining clean and organised work areas
  • Assisting with the set-up and close down of service
  • Storing food in line with hygiene standards
  • Managing waste appropriately

This is a full-time position and will require availability on weekends and public holidays across breakfast, lunch, and dinner service, including split shifts.

As part of The Wests Group's recruitment and assessment process, all candidates progressing to the next stage will be required to complete relevant due diligence and probity checks specific to the role. About You

You bring a genuine passion for food and take pride in delivering consistent, well-presented dishes. You are confident working across kitchen operations and enjoy supporting a collaborative team environment. To be successful, you will have:

  • Strong cooking skills and relevant trade qualifications (Cert III in Commercial Cookery, Cert IV in Kitchen Management, or similar)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in a busy kitchen environment
  • Flexibility to support a range of catering operations across the site
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
