Job summary

Mansfield Golf Club in Mansfield, Victoria, seeks a qualified, passionate Chef to join our kitchen team. You will prepare and cook menu items and help lead our kitchen operation in a busy regional club.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in a commercial kitchen, knowledge of OH&S and hygiene, and the ability to supervise staff and manage stock. Accommodation support is available for the right candidate, with potential sponsorship after probation.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen (minimum 2 years).
• Qualified in commercial cookery (Cert 3 or higher).
• Strong knowledge of OH&S and food hygiene requirements.
• Valid work rights in Australia and availability for weekday/weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items.
• Train and supervise newly appointed staff or less experienced staff.
• Monitor hygiene regulations and ensure compliance.
• Monitor quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
• Delegate tasks to other team members and supervise cooks.
• Monitor stock levels and place orders.

An opportunity is currently available for a qualified, passionate and highly motivated Chef to join the kitchen crew at Mansfield Golf Club

Mansfield is a thriving, picturesque community located near Mt Buller and Lake Eildon. It is situated in Victoria's north east, 200km from Melbourne on the Maroondah Hwy. It offers all the facilities needed to comfortably live in a regional town. The town also supports thousands of tourists every year as they embark on snow and water skiing, boating, fishing, hiking, camping, bike and horse riding and 4WD activities to name just a few.

With a growing trade you will be supporting our current Head, Sous Chef & kitchenhands.

Reporting to the Head Chef your responsibilities will include

• Experienced in Preparing and cooking menu items.
• Must be able to Train and supervise the newly appointed staff or less experienced staff.
• Must be well complaint with hygiene regulations.
• Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
• Delegation of tasks to other team members.
• Supervise Cooks and assist as needed.
• Monitor food stock and place orders.

Requirements

• Experience and qualifications in commercial cookery (Cert 3 or higher)
• Minimum 2 years' experience in the commercial kitchen
• Ability to work unsupervised and in a team.
• Understanding of OH&S and food hygiene requirement
• Must hold valid work rights in Australia
• Must be available to work a mix of weekdays and weekends to support our 7-day operation
