Job summary

Souths Leagues Club Mackay is seeking a Qualified Chef to deliver quality dishes in a fast-paced club kitchen, with bistro classics and a modern twist. You’ll be a key part of our kitchen team, helping prep, plate and drive menu ideas while maintaining safety standards.

You’ll thrive on teamwork, handle responsibilities around stock and deliveries, and contribute to a positive kitchen culture with steady hours across bistro, events and functions.

Qualifications

• A trade qualification in commercial cookery.
• Experience in a bistro or club-style kitchen (bonus points for high-volume service).
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• A love for teamwork and a dash of humour under pressure.
• Available to work split shifts, weekends & public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepping and plating a variety of fresh, quality dishes
• Contributing ideas to menus and daily specials
• Maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards
• Working closely with a supportive and down-to-earth team
• Taking on some responsibility around stock control- ordering, rotation, inventory & minimizing waste
• Managing deliveries
• Maintain a clean, organized & efficient environment
• Liaise with FOH staff to ensure smooth service
• Foster a positive and productive kitchen culture
