Job summary

Chartwells, part of Compass Group, is seeking a Part Time Chef to prepare nutritious meals for boarders at our education sites in Truganina. You will work 7am–2pm, Monday to Friday, with onsite parking and a supportive team.

You should hold Cert 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookery, have bulk cooking experience, allergen awareness, and a passion for healthy food. Join us to contribute to great dining experiences for students.

Qualifications

• Must have Cert 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookery.
• Experience cooking in bulk quantities.
• Strong understanding of allergen management and food safety.
• Able to work autonomously in an open kitchen.
• Excellent customer service in a kitchen environment.

$32.00 / hour + 12% Super

• Work alongside a supportive and friendly team preparing meals for boarders
• Work close to home in Truganina
• Onsite parking, 7am - 2pm Monday to Friday shifts

THE POSITION

• Prepare fresh, nutritious meals for students
• Contribute to menu ideas using local ingredients
• Monitor stock and minimize wastage
• Adhere to hygiene standards and following proper food handling practices
• Deliver healthy choices and guidance to the future generation
• Parking available on site

THE PERSON

• A qualified Chef with Cert 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookery
• Experience with cooking in bulk quantities
• Strong understanding of allergen management and food safety
• Passionate about healthy and nutritious food
• All-rounder experience and able to cook Savoury & sweet desserts
• Able to have a valid working with children's check
• Excellent knowledge of all kitchen procedures and operations
• Must be able to work autonomously
• Great customer service as this role will be working in an open kitchen
