Job summary

Chartwells in Bathurst is seeking a Kitchen Hand to assist with basic food preparation, plating, and high-volume washing while supporting a busy education catering team.

You will maintain cleanliness, follow food safety and WHS standards, and help stock deliveries in a fast-paced environment. The casual role pays $27.09/hour plus casual loading and penalties, with free onsite parking, meals on shift, and school term hours with school holidays off.

• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.

• High volume washing and sanitising of dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across kitchen, dining and service areas, including deep cleaning duties
• Receive, unpack and organise stock deliveries and supplies
• Follow strict food safety and WHS standards in line with company protocols
• Support chefs and the wider catering team as required

THE PERSON

• Experience in a high-volume kitchen hand or hospitality environment
• Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
• Enjoy working as part of a team in a busy environment
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
• Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and contribute to a dynamic team
• Hold or be willing to obtain a Working With Children Check
