Job2Go Pty Ltd invites applications for a qualified and experienced Chef to join our team in Upper Mount Gravatt, Brisbane. This full-time permanent role focuses on delivering high-quality meals, supporting kitchen operations, and upholding food safety standards in a busy service.

You will prepare and cook meals in line with recipes, assist with menu planning and stock control, supervise junior kitchen staff, and help train team members to maintain consistent quality and presentation.

Qualifications

  • AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Hospitality Management.
  • Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery.
  • At least one year of experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
  • Experience in Nepalese and Indian cuisine (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, stock control and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals in accordance with recipes and restaurant standards.
  • Plan and assist with the development of menus.
  • Estimate food requirements and assist with food and labour costing.
  • Monitor the quality and freshness of ingredients and prepared meals.
  • Maintain consistent standards of food quality, portioning and presentation.
  • Order and manage food supplies, stock levels and kitchen inventory.
  • Implement appropriate stock rotation and minimise food wastage.
  • Supervise and support junior kitchen staff during preparation and service.
  • Provide guidance and training on cooking techniques and food preparation.
  • Maintain clean, organised and hygienic kitchen areas.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
  • Coordinate kitchen operations during busy service periods.
  • Perform other Chef-related duties as reasonably required.

Salary: $80,000 plus superannuation per annum

Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals, supporting kitchen operations, maintaining food safety standards, and assisting with menu planning, stock control and staff supervision.

Candidates with demonstrated experience in preparing Nepalese and Indian cuisine will be prioritised.
