Job summary

Gold Fields is seeking a Charge Up Operator for underground blasting operations at Granny Smith. You will charge development and production rounds, handle explosives safely, and conduct inspections to ensure compliance.

The role reports to the Supervisor Underground Production and involves working within a high-performing crew on rotating rosters. Ideal candidates will have substantial underground mining experience, a WA Shotfirer license (or willingness to obtain), and a strong teamwork and

• Substantial underground mining experience (Charge Up or Service crew exposure highly regarded) with emulsion and ANFO blasting familiarity.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Commitment to safety and ability to work in a physically demanding underground environment.

Responsibilities

• Charging development and production rounds.
• Safely handling and transporting explosives in line with regulations.
• Tying up and preparing blasts safely and accurately.
• Conducting pre- and post-blast inspections.
• Maintaining equipment and reporting issues.

The Opportunity

As a Charge Up Operator, you’ll be responsible for charging development and production blasts, handling and transporting explosives, maintaining underground firing lines and carrying out shot-firing duties to strict compliance and safety standards.

Reporting to the Supervisor Underground Production, you’ll join a high-performing crew that plays a vital role in underground blast readiness.

Skills & Qualifications
