Job summary

Gold Fields Group Services (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Charge Up Operator to charge development and production blasts underground, handling explosives with strict safety standards. You will report to the Supervisor Underground Production and join a high-performing crew vital to blast readiness at Granny Smith.

This permanent underground role offers a pathway to advance in a leading gold producer, with a focus on safe operations and teamwork in challenging conditions.

Qualifications

• Substantial underground mining experience in Charge Up or service crew roles.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving.
• Proactive attitude with commitment to safety.
• Able to work effectively in a physically demanding underground environment with a team.
• WA Shotfirer’s license (or willingness to obtain) and WA DG Security Card.

Responsibilities

• Charging development and production rounds.
• Safely handling and transporting explosives in line with regulations.
• Tying up and preparing blasts safely and accurately.
• Conducting pre- and post-blast inspections.
• Maintaining equipment and reporting any issues.
• Working collaboratively with the underground crew and maintaining safety standards.
