Job summary

Evolution Mining in Queensland is seeking a safety‑focused Charge-Up Operator for Ernest Henry Operations to join the underground development team. You will safely charge headings, support development activities and maintain high safety standards on site.

You'll work with an experienced crew, complete pre-start checks, and contribute to efficient underground operations while upholding quality and housekeeping. This role offers stable rostered shifts and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Development Charge-Up competency, current QSEC Card and underground tickets.
• Experience in underground charge-up, bogging and development activities.
• Strong hazard awareness and commitment to safety.
• Good communication and teamwork in a high-risk environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate charge-up equipment and handle explosives in accordance with site standards and procedures
• Support underground development activities through charging, bogging and related mining tasks
• Complete pre-start inspections, equipment checks and defect reporting
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, quality and operational discipline.

What’sthe opportunity?

As a Charge-Up Operator, you'll play a critical role in our underground development team, safely charging development headings and supporting the delivery of underground development activities.

Working with an experienced underground mining team, you'll ensure charging activities are completed safely, efficiently and in line with operational requirements while contributing to a strong team culture and safety-first environment.

Based at our Ernest Henry Operations and reporting to the Supervisor - Development, you’ll:

• Safely operate charge-up equipment and handle explosives in accordance with site standards and procedures
• Support underground development activities through charging, bogging and related mining tasks
• Complete pre-start inspections, equipment checks and defect reporting
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, quality and operational discipline.

Does this sound like you?

You're a safety-focused underground operator who takes pride in performing quality work and supporting a productive team environment. You have experience working underground and understand the importance of following procedures, maintaining equipment and operating safely around explosives. Ideally, you’ll also have:

• Development Charge-Up competency, current QSEC Card and relevant underground mining tickets
• Experience in underground charge-up, bogging and development activities
• Strong understanding of safe explosives handling and underground mining practices
• Sound communication skills, strong hazard awareness and a commitment to safety
• A proactive attitude and willingness to support the team across a variety of underground tasks.
