Job summary

Evolution Mining is seeking an Underground Mining Engineer for Cowal Operations. You will shape mine designs, schedules and technical solutions to support safe, efficient production while growing expertise across multiple underground disciplines.

Joining an 8:6 roster on a residential or DIDO arrangement, you will work with a collaborative technical team and report to the Senior Mining Engineer (Underground). A strong safety mindset and values alignment are essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• Underground mining experience (2–5 years preferred).
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; ability to engage stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mine designs and schedules for safe, productive underground mining.
• Collaborate with operations and technical teams to improve performance and meet production targets.
• Identify risks early and implement effective controls in design and planning.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across mine planning, drill and blast, ventilation, pastefill and underground operations.

Take the next step in your mining engineering career at one of Australia's most exciting and growing underground operations. As our Underground Mining Engineer, you'll play a key role in shaping mine designs, schedules and technical solutions that help deliver safe, efficient and sustainable production outcomes. You'll have the opportunity to influence operational performance while developing your expertise across multiple underground mining disciplines.

Working on an 8:6 roster with 12 hour shifts, this residential or DIDO opportunity offers an excellent lifestyle balance while contributing to the continued growth of Cowal's underground operation. You'll join a collaborative technical team supporting a site that continues to expand production and invest in its long-term future.

Based at our Cowal Operations and reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer (Underground), you'll:

• Deliver practical mine designs and schedules that support safe, productive underground mining outcomes.
• Partner with operations and technical teams to improve performance and achieve production targets.
• Identify risks early and embed effective controls through sound engineering design and planning.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across mine planning, drill and blast, ventilation, pastefill and underground operations.

Does this sound like you?

• A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous underground mining experience, ideally 2-5 years
• Experience with mine design and scheduling software, ideally Deswik CAD and Interactive Scheduler.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
