Job summary

Gold Fields is seeking a Charge Up Operator to join the Granny Smith underground team on a FIFO roster from Perth. Responsibilities include charging development and production rounds, transporting explosives, and ensuring safe blasting operations.

You will report to the Underground Production Supervisor and contribute to the crew’s blast readiness. This role offers a pathway to advance in a leading gold producer, with a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and continuous skill development within a

Qualifications

• Substantial underground mining experience with Charge Up or service crew exposure, and use of emulsion/ANFO in blasting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
• Proactive safety mindset and commitment to safe working practices.
• Able to work effectively in a team within a physically demanding underground environment.
• WA Shotfirer license (or willing to obtain).
• Valid manual C Class Driver’s License.
• WA Dangerous Goods Security Card and Working at Heights.

Responsibilities

• Tie up and prepare blasts safely and accurately.
• Conduct pre- and post-blast inspections.

The Opportunity

As a Charge Up Operator, you’ll be responsible for charging development and production blasts, handling and transporting explosives, maintaining underground firing lines and carrying out shot-firing duties to strict compliance and safety standards.

Reporting to the Supervisor Underground Production, you’ll join a high-performing crew that plays a vital role in underground blast readiness.
