Australian Training Company is offering a four-year full-time apprenticeship as a Forklift / Mobile Plant Technician. You will service, diagnose and repair a range of material handling equipment under guidance, gaining real hands-on experience in a workshop.

You’ll study at TAFE to achieve a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology and build practical skills with qualified technicians, with clear progression into field service or specialist roles after qualification.

Qualifications

• Motivated, hands-on apprentice in mechanical trade.
• Willing to learn and follow safety procedures.
• Must have or be working toward a driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Assist with servicing and preventative maintenance on forklifts and material handling equipment
• Identify and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic faults
• Assist with repairs and component overhauls under supervision of qualified technicians
• Develop practical skills using specialist tools and diagnostic equipment
• Attend TAFE training and logbook activities
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures

Forklift / Mobile Plant Technician Apprenticeship | Earn While You Learn

About The Opportunity

Australian Training Company is looking for a motivated, hands-on Apprentice Forklift / Mobile Plant Technician to join a workshop team and kick-start a career in a skilled mechanical trade.

This is a full-time, four-year apprenticeship where you’ll learn to service, diagnose and repair a range of material handling equipment, including electric, LPG and diesel forklifts.

Working alongside experienced, qualified technicians, you’ll develop practical mechanical, electrical and diagnostic skills while completing a nationally recognised qualification, such as a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology.

What You’ll Be Doing

We’re Looking For Someone Who Is

• Genuinely interested in mechanics, machinery and how things work
• Hands-on, practical and keen to learn new skills
• Reliable, punctual and committed to completing an apprenticeship
• Able to follow instructions and work safely
• A good communicator who is willing to learn from experienced tradespeople
• Prepared to attend TAFE and complete all training requirements
• A current driver’s licence holder or actively working towards obtaining one

The Following Would Be Advantageous But Are Not Essential

• Completion of Year 11 or Year 12
• Completion of a pre-apprenticeship course in mechanical, automotive or a related field
• Experience or hobbies involving cars, motorbikes, engines, tools or machinery
• Previous workshop, mechanical or hands-on work experience
